信頼していた先輩記者・畠山さえもが化け物の餌食となり、残された手がかり「吉澤吉江」がDVを受けていたという吉江の夫・武のいるホスピスへ向かう一輝たち…ついにヨシエの正体、謎の真相へと迫ることができる…そう思ったのもつかの間だった。一輝の目の前でヨシエが武に喰らいつき、去っていく。一輝はヨシエを追うが…里香はその瞬間を見ていなかった。「またアイツが現れた」と言う一輝に対して少しずつ疑心暗鬼になる里香。一方そのころ、畠山の娘・沙織のもとに行方不明になったはずの父親からメールが届く…「俺は無事だ。心配いらない。預けたものを届けてほしい。」何かに導かれるように廃墟へ集められた沙織たちと、里香、そして一輝だが…。
Even the trustworthy journalist Hatayama, who is Kazuki’s mentor, fell victim to the forest monster, namely Yoshie. The last and only clue to solving the mystery is Yoshie’s living husband who is hospitalized. At last, Kazuki is about to find out the truth about the monsters, but the hope goes out the window when Yoshie appears in the middle of the day to devour Takeshi in front of Kazuki. He runs out the hospital to find where Yoshie has disappeared. Rika is one step late to witness it. Rika’s suspicion over Kazuki grows stronger.
In Tokyo, Saori receives an e-mail from the allegedly diseased Hatayama, not knowing that her father has gone missing for several weeks. His e-mail reads, “I’m alright. Don’t worry. Keep safe what I handed to you.” As if some magical power is behind all this, Saori, Rika and Kazuki are all summoned to an abandoned place in the middle of nowhere...
